If you have no idea where to start feel free to browse our site for more about: self-publishing, book design, typesetting layout, binding types, fundraising cookbooks … or otherwise just call on 09 443 1775  or email hello@bookprint.co.nz

Publishing has approximately 7 steps. As an independent publisher (self-publisher with their head screwed on = independent publisher) you will need to ensure each of the steps are covered however we can help you with the four that create great first impressions:

  1. Cover Design
  2. Text Design
  3. Book Printing
  4. Distribution.

Great first impressions cause people to trust you and your book. Then they buy your book.

Which binding type should I choose? You can make or break a book project with the choices you make for paper and binding. Read about binding types here.

Just make sure you match the ‘feel and look’ to your market/brand. Ie don’t build a $300,000 house in a million-dollar neighbourhood or a $1,000,000 house on a $250,000 street. If you would prefer to talk the options through get in touch.

What our clients say

I just wanted to email to say thank you so much for all the work you did with the Momentum book! We really appreciate all the time and effort you put into it and the outcome was exceptional.

Laura – Arise Church

Arise

We thought the book was beautifully printed and we received only positive comments from the recipients. Also, we’ve found over the years that dealing with publications for artists can be fraught with difficulties as they tend to be VERY fussy about the print quality and the little details; however, everybody was very happy with the production values and delighted to be part of the project. High praise indeed!

Thank you for managing everything so well and for going the extra mile with the all the ‘fiddly bits’ to ensure we got the high-quality outcome we were looking for. It was great dealing with BookPrint – I would certainly use you again and will recommend your services to others in the future.

We printed our book right here in NZ with BookPrint! We loved the idea of printing locally and saving fuel miles plus their costs are competitive and service is awesome so it’s a win win!

Natalie Cutler-Welsh – If Only They’d Told Me (Podcast, Blog, and Book)

I’d finished a memoir, got it proofed and was looking for someone local to convert these files into a paperback I could be truly proud of. I was looking for a printer who would provide me with a book that didn’t look “self-published”. It was bullseye first shot: I couldn’t have met anybody better.

I let him know what I wanted and he suggested I send over a sample chapter of my Word file. The typeset PDF of the sample chapter came back in no time at all and I felt the prices he quoted were reasonable. You knew up front what you were getting and there were various options. I asked him to go ahead. What really impressed me was not just the speed and cost of his service but rather his creative input in regards to the design and layout.

Thank you for your friendly and professional service in printing the cookbook for our school… The print quality and the time frame you met was exceptional. We have had such a positive response to the books…

Mercedes – Corelli School

I cannot recommend Tim and BookPrint enough for the professional, thorough and friendly service we received when ordering a small number of leather-bound notebooks.

With a very tight deadline, Tim was able to work magic in producing a personalised, branded notebook that came within budget and exceeded our expectations.

We gave these as gifts to graduates of our leadership development programme.
